HISTORY OF MAPLETON EXCERPTS |
| The History of Mapleton chronicles everything from
pre-settlement when the Native Americans populated the area, through the
Utah Mormon Pioneers, ending with the status of Mapleton in 1976 when
the book was completed. It is 9 X 12 with 198 pages detailing the growth
of Mapleton. Interesting anecdotes and fantastic black and white
photography from the earliest days of civilization in Mapleton are
plentiful.
EXAMPLE PAGES: (You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader, but it is a simple download if you do not already have it. Click here if you want to download and install it.) CHAPTER 1:
As you will see from these examples, the book is detailed, but it moves at a good pace. It is rich with information and will really give the reader good insight into the character of Mapleton. If you have family roots in Mapleton, this book has wonderful biographical sketches of some of the early residents of Mapleton as well, making it an invaluable source for genealogy. Here is a list of the families who are detailed in alphabetical order by last name. If the man or woman listed had more than one spouse or no spouse, none are listed below, but they are written about in the biographical sketch. Their children are mentioned as well in the article (if there were any), but I found the list too numerous to type. Throughout the book many more people are written about, but they are also WAY too numerous to mention!
