We have a new and exciting item
in our line of products: Limited edition
canvas transfer prints (canvas giclee). These
giclee prints are the ultimate in reproduction
quality. In this printing process, the
original painting is scanned using top of the
line digital equipment, then archival Roland
inks (rated to last 75 + years without fading)
are sprayed onto archival, acid-free canvas to
reproduce the image. The resolution of the print
is so high that each dot of color is as
miniscule as a single red blood cell. After
printing, a special coating is added to increase
the image's durability. Finally, the canvas is
stretched onto stretcher bars, just like the
original canvas, or mounted to Gator Board. Both
support materials are archival as well.
The end product is virtually
indistinguishable from the original painting.
The colors are rich and true to the original
painting in a way that only a giclee print can
achieve. Each brush stroke is visible as a
two-dimensional replica of the original strokes,
and the colors glow like the original. All materials used in the print
including Roland inks, acid free canvas, and the coating
to ensure durability are archival quality and will
last for years without fading or yellowing. Each
print is numbered, signed for authenticity by
the artist's wife (the artist is deceased), and
complete with a certificate of authenticity,
information sheets about the painting, and
information about Wendell. The edition is
limited to 300 prints.
You may order the canvas
print stectched on stretcher bars like the
original painting, or mounted to Gator board (an
archival quality support material). There is no
cost difference between the two methods of
support. The difference is that Gator Board helps add
rigidity to the canvas so that it is more
durable and will not stretch and sag with
exposure to humid climates. The two support
methods look identical once they are framed, so
it is just a matter of climate and preference.
